Fishing Malaysia
Last years trip to Rompin was a total succes.
Of course we had to do it again this year -
Here are some of the guys (from left):
Peter, Mark, Claus, Steve, Kim & guide Dominic.
A bedside chat - hmmmm, worrying, haha...
From left: Peter Rune, Claus, Jesper & Kim
Guides and trip organizers: Dominic & Ian.
Thanks guys for sorting everything !
The harbour of Kuala Rompin. Claus, Peter Steve & Kim with gear to the boats. And then departure - 1 hour to the Sailfish !
Claus busy catching baitfish - where is the Tiger ? Sometimes it is easy to get the baitfish. Some of the best baitfish: Yellowtail Scad.
Some nice sidecatches - here a Butterfly Whiptail, Snakefish, Goby,
Baby Barracuda, Snappers, and an ink-spraying Squid.
Like last year, we didn't have to wait long, for the Sails to hit the baits, and then the fun begins...

Sailfish coming near to the boat, using up its last resources, and then we got you - what colours !!!

The guide lifts the fish into the boat, and Jesper can show what a magnificent fish it is. After a few (read: many)  photos it is released again.

Of course, everyone caught Sailfish. Here's Mark. Steve. Andy & Lynn visited us in Rompin,
and they were invited to join the fun on the boats.

Peter. Nice shorts. Claus. Still no Tiger... Kim - always expect him to do the unexpected.

Lovely Lynn with her first Sailfish. And her second Sailfish, which gave her a good fight !

Yes, it's me... From my pretty side... Rune caught a rare splitbill Sailfish - as you can see here.
One night in Stick City. A truly great experience. First class accomodation & no mozzies.
Stick City was a fishing station, but today it's an "out-of-the-way" experience. However, they still fish to feed themselves and visitors.
There were certainly enough fish. We had a traditional "Steam Boat" with seafood. Even breakfast was a treat: Sausages & fried eggs.
Leaving Stick City, we went to do a little snorkeling between some exotic islands. You're on camera...
We found Nemo, and thousands of other fishes, Sea Stars,
impressive Corals, weird looking Sea Star, and beautiful Turban Shells.

We still had 3 more days to fish, and, boy, did we fish. Double- & triple hookups. The fishing went absolutely mad.

I lost count of the number of Sails we caught, but on the last day we landed 29, and lost 15-20...
Our favourite Rompin restaurant. The cook there is a genius. Always friendly & helpful staff.
We always had a lot of different dishes, and Captain Fong taught to use chop-sticks properly. At last - a picture of Claus with his best friends !
