SANTORINI - Around the Island Johnny Jensen's Photographic Library

We hired a car for the day and decided on some locations to see. First, we made our way to Red Beach.
Emil & I were very interested in having a look beneath the waves. There were many wrasses,
sea bream, and blennies.
Next stop, Pyrgos - known for its many churches... ...and less famous for the many steps, I suspect !
Many churches... Oh, and did I mention churches ?
I guess I did ! White & Blue seem to be the colours of choice -
wonder what would happen if you painted your house yellow and red !?
Well, who cares ? - Not this guy, surely ! Time for lunch (Greek salad) before moving on.
In the afternoon we went to Amundi Beach near Oia. Again, Emil & I checked out the local fishes.
There were schools of mullets, sea bream, and many more.
A walk through Oia (pronounced "ia")  is time well spent - its beautiful... ...and, yes, there are more churches.
Here is probably the nicest one I saw the whole trip. We spent the evening in the great company of the Løppke family.
We had a lovely dinner, while watching the sun set.
